ARMENIA AND SWITZERLAND SIGNED AGREEMENT ON ENGINEERING, FINANCIAL AND HUMANITARIAN COOPERATION
Armenian Minister of Finance and Economy Vardan Khachatrian and Chief of the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign affairs of Switzerland Blaise Goden have signed an agreement on engineering, financial and humanitarian cooperation. As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Armenia, the agreement aims at developing economy, the social sector, environment, as well as strengthening democracy and human rights. Within the framework of the agreement Armenia will be provided with grants of 3.5 million Swiss francs as engineering assistance and 3 million as humanitarian contribution. The engineering assistance will be used to enhance the level of management of natural resources, transparency in state governance, information accessibility. The humanitarian one will be spent to promote solution of conflicts and overcoming natural disasters, specifically to assist displaced persons and most vulnerable social groups.
