Heritage condemns physical assault on MP candidate

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Heritage Party condemns the physical assault on independent MP candidate Meruzhan Mkhoyan that took place on April 6. Running in the single-mandate constituency No. 21 in Armavir province opposed in the race by Republican-backed Aleksan Petrosian, Mkhoyan withdrew his candidacy as a direct result of the assault.

Heritage demands that the Central Electoral Commission and law enforcing bodies conduct a fair and thorough investigation of the case. Such violence brutally undermines the electoral process, and nothing like it must ever happen again, Heritage Campaign Headquarters press service reported.
