RPA lacks money to support its candidateApril 13, 2012 - 13:21 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On April 12, journalists asked head of the parliamentary group of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Galust Sahakyan whether RPA is going to transfer money to the bank account of tycoon Samvel Alexanyan, RPA candidate in the upcoming parliamentary elections. “We have no money to support Samvel Alexanyan,” Galust Sahakyan told reporters in the National Assembly. He suggested that this question be addressed to Yerevan’s Malatia district (where Alexanyan is nominated) residents, voicing confidence that hearing the people’s response even journalists will be eager to support Alexanyan. When asked the same question about supporting Alexanyan, representative of ARF Dashkatsutyun Artsvik Minasyan replied that they backed only their own candidates. He also noted that in compliance with its program of support families with many children, Dashkatsutyun, in case of victory, is ready to help large families of tycoons as well, provided the latters prove they need housing. It is worth reminding that MP Samvel Alexanyan, running for the parliament by majority system in the 7th constituency recently declared he needed funding for his election campaign.
