TURKISH PRESS SUPPOSES US PRESIDENT WILL NOT USE TERM "GENOCIDE" IN HIS ANNUAL SPEECH APRIL 24
This year again US President George Bush will refrain from using the term "genocide" in his annual speech to Armenians of America April 24. Such a forecast was made by Hurriyet Turkish newspaper referring to a source, close to the US Administration. According to the source, Bush is decidedly against using the term "genocide" referring to the events of 1915 that relate to Armenians and is consistent in his stance. The circumstance that presidential election is scheduled in the country in 2004 will not even influence it.
