In an April 17 conversation with Haykakan Zhamanak daily's reporter Armen Rustamyan, representative of ARF Dashnaktsutyun's Supreme Body, voiced confidence that the authorities have no chance to gain majority in the next parliament if elections are free and fair.

“Yes, I’m convinced in this. First, there is no force to gain absolute majority. The picture will resemble the reality, allowing to make the parliament a serious counterbalance to the executive power; the country will see drastic changes,” Dashnaktsutyun member said.

According to Rustamyan, if the opposition gains 1/5 of deputy mandates, it will get an opportunity to tackle serious issues; taking 1/3 of the seats will further increase its chances, while 50 % of seats in parliament will provide a different arena for opposition's work, which will favor everybody.
