Expert sees ex-FM as Prosperous Armenia’s presidential candidate

PanARMENIAN.Net - In case of success of Prosperous Armenia coalition party at the forthcoming parliamentary elections, former Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian will become the party’s candidate for 2013 presidential race, an expert said.

In response to the question as to the possible nomination of ex-president Robert Kocharian by Prosperous Armenia, Karen Kocharyan noted “Kocharian and Oskanian as interrelated.”

“All this seems to be the casting for presidential elections,” the expert said ironically.

Parliamentary elections, due in Armenia on May 6, feature 8 political parties, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD), Orinats Yerkir, Heritage, Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA), Communist Party of Armenia and United Armenian party, as well as one election bloc represented by opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC).
