US TO ALLOCATE AZERBAIJAN $70 MILLION THIS YEARMay 21, 2004 - 22:49 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The US will allocate $70 million to Azerbaijan for fiscal year 2004, as reported by Azeri media, US State Department coordinator for Europe and Eurasia Carlos Pascual stated in Baku. In his words, the sum will be divided the following way: $20 million for humanitarian aid, $9 million for democratic reforms, $11 million for the assistance to the law-enforcement bodies, $13,5 million for economy support, $4,5 million for students exchange programs. Mr. Pascual reminded that the assistance to Azerbaijan amounted in $68 million in fiscal year 2003.
