Politician says Armenian ex-president tried to make electoral stir - paper

PanARMENIAN.Net - Leader of National Unity Party Artashes Geghamyan commented on possible coalition between the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and Prosperous Armenia party to Aravot paper.

“This is up to RPA to decide,” Geghamyan who is listed in RPA’s proportional electoral list told the daily.

“Actually, why not,” Aravot quotes him as saying.

“Prosperous Armenia has maintained correct behavior as much as possible. Another thing is that ex-president of Armenia Robert Kocharian tried hard to make a mess, but he failed,” Gheghamyan noted.

As to RPA’s potential cooperation with other forces, National Unity leader said: “In view of the President’s exceptional common sense and activities aimed at nation’s consolidation, as well as recognition of the serious challenges Armenia is facing, Serzh Sargsyan may invite all forces to form a coalition, even given RPA’s absolute majority in the parliament.”
