ARMENIA CONCERNED WITH INCIDENT OCCURRED AT NATO CONFERENCE IN BAKU
Armenia is concerned with the attempt of activists of the Azeri Organization for Karabakh Liberation to frustrate the NATO conference on the planning of the Cooperative Best Effort-2004 multinational exercises, Armenian Foreign Ministry Press Secretary Hamlet Gasparian stated. In his words, "such an incident is a logical consequence of Azerbaijan's Armenophobia policy, which penetrates into all social strata and hampers Armenian-Azeri dialogue." Being asked by Armenpress news agency to which extent the Baku incident will influence the participation of the Armenian delegation in the NATO Istanbul summit, the Armenian Foreign Ministry Spokesman noted, "In spite of such artificial obstacles, Armenia is determined to continue active participation in NATO exercises and measures, being organized in our region, including the Alliance Summit in Istanbul. Armenia appreciates the high role the NATO plays in the establishment of a dialogue and cooperation in the South Caucasus, he said.
