Kazakhstan to host CSTO peacemaking exercise in September

PanARMENIAN.Net - Kazakhstan will host maneuvers of CSTO peacemaking forces in September, 2012, the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization said.

“This will be the first exercises of this scale. We are seriously preparing for them,” Nikolay Bordyuzha told a press conference in the format of Astana-Kyiv-Chisinau space bridge.

According to him, relevant organizational events have already been held including talks with leadership of Kazakh Defense Ministry in Astana.

Mr. Bordyuzha further voiced hope for the exercises to become regular, which, in turn, “will make conduction of peacemaking maneuvers possible beyond the borders of CSTO member-states on UN Security Council mandate.”
