VARDAN OSKANIAN MET WITH TURKISH AND AZERI FOREIGN MINISTERS IN ISTANBUL
June 28 questions of bilateral relations were discussed by Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Turkey Vardan Oskanian and Abdullah Gul within the framework of the NATO Istanbul Summit. As reported by the Press Service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia, the interlocutors also touched upon the questions referring to the situation in the region and the settlement of the Karabakh conflict. The parties noted the need for holding such discussions and exchanging views and agreed to continue the direct dialogue. The same evening a trilateral meeting of Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Turkey and Azerbaijan - Vardan Oskanian, Abdullah Gul and Elmar Mamedyarov - was held. The Ministers discussed the situation in the South Caucasus, issues of inclusion of the South Caucasian countries in the Wider Europe: New Neighborhood EU program, as well as NATO new approaches to the Caucasus. The interlocutors also touched upon the issue of the Nagorno Karabakh settlement.
