Parliament ex-speaker: Prosperous Armenia won’t follow Orinats Yerkir’s suit

PanARMENIAN.Net - The head of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) election headquarters, parliament ex-speaker Hovik Abrahamyan refuted rumors suggesting Prosperous Armenia may follow the suit of Orinats Yerkir, after the latter’s refusal to form coalition with RPA.

“Prosperous Armenia won’t join the opposition. I believe, the party will be working constructively,” Abrahamyan said, stressing RPA has never put any pressure on any political party.

In 2006, following Orinats Yerkir’s withdrawal from ruling coalition, all entrepreneur MPs as well as ministers affiliated with Orinats Yerkir, left the party. According to media reports, the move came as a result of RPA pressure on the party.
