Gunman kills 1, injures 8 in Finnish town

PanARMENIAN.Net - A gunman opened fire from a rooftop in a Finnish town centre in the early hours of Saturday, May 26 killing an 18-year-old woman and wounding eight other people, police said, according to Reuters.

An 18-year-old man has been detained after the shooting outside bars and restaurants in Hyvinkaa just before 2 a.m. (2300 GMT). Police said the suspect was believed to have used two rifles.

Two of the wounded are in critical condition and one of them is a policewoman.

Hyvinkaa is 56 kilometres (34 miles) north of the capital, Helsinki.
