A suit is brought in the US against New York Life insurance company, which is going to pay compensations to descendants of victims of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey, who had insured their lives in Western insurance companies in the beginning of the past century. The announcements for the descendants of the owners of the insurance policies in press not mentioning the Armenian Genocide gave cause for attorney Ben Nutley initiating a trial. In Nutley's words, there are no notes on the Genocide at Internet sites, where the surnames of potential recipients of the compensations are presented either. Besides, in the opinion of the plaintiffs, the announcements on paying compensation are printed mainly in US media, while heirs of victims of the Armenian Genocide should be searched for all over the world.
