AZERIS ASK NATO TO CONDUCT COOPERATIVE BEST EFFORT-2004 IN ANOTHER COUNTRY
Azeri Organization for Karabakh Liberation requested NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer to choose another country for conducting Cooperative Best Effort-2004 exercise scheduled for this September in Azerbaijan. As reported by Regnum IA, the request can be explained by the fact that the arrival of the Armenian servicemen in Baku is unadvisable and can cause conflicts in the country. The OKL stated that "Armenians must not visit Baku unless they quit the seized Azeri territories". The initiators of the appeal note that the NATO and Azerbaijani leadership are to account for possible consequences.
