ARMENIAN PRIME MINISTER PARTICIPATED IN COUNCIL OF CIS GOVERNMENT HEADS SITTING
Today Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Margarian participated in the sitting of the Council of Heads of Governments of the CIS states held in the Kazakh capital of Astana. As reported by the Government Press Service, economic problems occupied much space in the agenda of the sitting. Specifically, the premiers touched upon the question of solution of the problem of factors that have a negative impact of multilateral economic cooperation. In the course of the meeting a resolution was passed on conferring powers to the CIS Economic Council for making final decisions on drafts of individual documents. Besides, the premiers signed a range of agreements on further development of cooperation in the fields of energy, transport policy, education, fight against crime and illegal migration, military and other spheres. In the course of the sitting issues referring to the activities of the bureau for coordination of struggle against organized and other types of dangerous crimes were also discussed. A decision was made to hold the next sitting of the Council of Heads of the CIS Governments in Tbilisi in April 2005.
