ANC mistakes parliament platform for Liberty Square

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today, June 21, the discussion of the government’s program for the upcoming 5 years continued at the parliament, with the Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc again harshly criticizing the program and government’s activity over the recent years.

According to ANC member, Social Democrat Hunchakian Party leader Lyudmila Sargsyan, the program will fail to secure a mechanism for the country’s sustainable development.

She said she will vote against the program, expressing reluctance to bear responsibility for its predictable failure.

ANC parliamentary group secretary Aram Manukyan continued yesterday’s discussion with the Prime Minister over the emigration issue, voicing readiness to present Tigran Sargsyan’s recorded statement, saying that emigration will prevent revolution.

In his speech, Mr. Manukyan slammed the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group members for always voting FOR and refraining from expressing personal standpoint.

ANC faction head Levon Zurabyan was the next to take the parliament platform. Like his colleagues, he criticized both the program and the new staff of the government, particularly the newly-appointed Minister of Transport and Communication Gagik Beglaryan.

The ANC representative further urged to attend the bloc’s rally scheduled for June 26, stressing the possibility to get rid from current authorities that way.

“I thought you would make proper use of the parliament platform, whereas you keep issuing calls for rallies,” parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan said ironically, in response to Zurabyan’s words.
