KOCHARIAN AND SAAKASHVILI OPENED DISCUSSION OF INITIATIVE ON COOPERATION BETWEEN SOUTH CAUCASIAN AND BALTIC STATES
"We have opened the discussions of our joint activities within the European Union: New Neighbors program", Armenian President Robert Kocharian stated when commenting on the "3+3" initiative put in the forefront by Georgian leader Mikhail Saakashvili lately. At that the Armenian President said the conversation will be continued today. In his turn Mikhail Saakashvili stated that the initiative is directed "not to somebody's detriment but to the benefit of the regional cooperation". To note the "3+3" initiative supposes the cooperation of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia on one hand and Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan on the other and aims at enlisting support of the Baltic states in closing with Europe within the policy of the new EU neighborhood.
