"The Possession" horror flick unveils creepy motion poster

PanARMENIAN.Net - Promoting the upcoming release of "The Possession", Lionsgate Films debuts a scary motion poster for the horror movie. The promotional one-sheet features shots of a girl dressed in a white frock walking while slowly being possessed by an evil power. She can be heard screaming and at one point there are insects bursting out from her mouth, AceShowbiz said.

"The Possession" is a fictional retelling of Los Angeles Times writer Leslie Gornstein's article "Jinx in a Box" about an antique wooden box purchased on eBay which reportedly had been brought to America by a Holocaust survivor after World War II. The box, which supposedly contains an evil spirit, brought devastating effects to a series of buyers.

Inspired by the story, the horror flick focuses on how one family must unite in order to survive the wrath of an unspeakable evil. Clyde (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Kyra Sedgwick) see little cause for alarm when their youngest daughter Em becomes oddly obsessed with an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale.

However, as Em's behavior becomes increasingly erratic, the couple fears the presence of a malevolent force in their midst, only to discover that the box was built to contain a dibbuk, a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.

Directed by Ole Bornedal and produced by Sam Raimi, the film is slated for an August 31 release in the United States.
