Armenian-German cooperation discussed in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - On August 8, Armenian National Assembly vice-speaker Hermine Naghdalyan met with the delegation of German state of Hesse, headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Hessian Minister of Justice, for Integration and Europe Jörg-Uwe Hahn.

Head of Armenian-German parliamentary friendship group Artak Davtyan, MPs Vahan Hovhannisyan, Artak Zakaryan and Shirak Torosyan were present at the meeting, according to parliamentary press service.

Ms. Naghdalyan hailed Armenian-German bilateral and multilateral political cooperation, stressing Armenia’s collaboration with German separate states, including Hesse.

She noted Germany as an EU country Armenia most actively cooperates with in trade and economic sector, highly assessing the role of Germany in Armenia’s European integration path.

Mr. Jörg-Uwe Hahn, in turn, stressed the importance of Hesse-Armenia cooperation going back to the Soviet period, with the partnership having gained new impetus after Armenia declared independence.

Current stage of Armenia-EU talks on deep and comprehensive free trade area, as well as cooperation in the fields of culture and education were further descussed.
