On the eve of his visit to Turkey President of the French National Assembly Jean Louis Debre told Zaman Turkish daily that "for becoming a EU member Turkey should pay tribute to memory and reconcile herself with the historical facts. When responding to the question whether the Armenian issue hinders the development of the Turkish-French relationships, he said that the Armenian issue does not sort with the Turkish-French relationships but concerns the Turkish-Armenian relations, particularly, Turkey's own history.
