Nintendo Wii U's European release date to be revealed this week?September 11, 2012 - 22:00 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Wii U's European release date could be revealed on Thursday, September 13, Digital Spy said. A conference will be streamed on the Nintendo Direct website from 3pm (BST), hosted by Nintendo of Europe president Satoru Shibata. Shibata will use the event to "take a closer look at the upcoming Wii U console", although it is believed he will announce a release date and price. It will run alongside an event in New York City, which will be hosted by Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime. Nintendo last held a similar event in New York and Amsterdam in 2011, during which it announced the price and release date for the Nintendo 3DS. With the impending release for Nintendo's new console this holiday season, the firm will likely take the opportunity to outline its final release details for the Wii U. Reports have indicated that the European release may be pushed back to later in the year. The Wii U launch date has been the subject of much speculation since its unveiling at last year's E3 Gaming Expo. Amazon Germany previously listed the console for a December 21 release, costing €399 - approximately £322/$506 - although it has since lowered the price. The console has also been rumoured for a November release, through both Ubisoft at the E3 Gaming Expo and a leaked Black Ops 2 listing.
