Prosperous Armenia has found itself in a difficult situation, head of Constitutional Law Union said.

Haik Babukhanyan deemed the level of former foreign minister Vartan Oskanian’s being a Prosperous Armenia member incomprehensible, voicing surprise over an influential political figure to get funding by foreign state institutions.

“It’s evident that Oskanian gets direct funding by a Mormon institution,” he said, adding that the case goes back to 1999.

“In 1999, the then president Robert Kocharian signed an agreement, enabling Huntsman Building Products company to privatize the reinforced concrete products plant. Here Kocharian’s interests concurred with the pro-Western policy,” Mr. Babukhanyan said.

Constitutional Law Union leader further noted that Oskanian’s statement stressing the need for reoccurrence of the Libyan scenario in Armenia made him invite the ex-minister for a dispute. Mr. Babukhanyan, this time, too, reiterated the invitation.
