Ang Lee’s "Life of Pi" clip released (video) October 19, 2012 - 18:09 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Ang Lee introduces the first ever clip from his upcoming film "Life of Pi". Presented in 2D, the snippet teases some beautiful sequences which will be featured in 3D when the film hits the big screen. In the clip, main protagonist Pi Patel is seen fighting over fish with a Bengal tiger that's left adrift with him on a lifeboat, AceShowbiz said. At first, the tiger won't give up a blue fin tuna fish that strands on their boat. However, Pi manages to show that he is the real master by continuously counter-attacking the big cat with a spear. Eventually, the big mammal surrenders and decides to have a bunch of tiny flying fish for meal. Director Lee creates a groundbreaking movie about a young man who survives a tragic disaster at sea and is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While marooned on a lifeboat, he forms an amazing and unexpected connection with the ship's only other survivor - a fearsome Bengal tiger. Slated for a November 21 release in the U.S., "Life of Pi" has wowed a number of critics after it was screened at recent New York Film Festival. Many reviewers highly praised Lee's effective 3D works and predicted the film would be a potential Oscar contender next year. Despite the high praise, Lee admitted that working in 3D was an "intimidating" experience for him. He once stated, "I was very intimidated. We're still novices at this. It's hard to shoot in 3D, but it makes it more interesting. The experience is more intense." Still, the "Brokeback Mountain" helmer promised that the 3D effect in "Pi" would "put you on the edge of your seat."
