Depeche Mode to embark on world tour in 2013 October 23, 2012 - 18:21 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Depeche Mode will embark on a world tour next year, the English band unveiled Tuesday, October 23 during a press conference here, which was also webcast live, The Hollywood Reporter said. These will be Depeche Mode’s first live shows since the band's 2009-2010 "Tour of the Universe," which sold more than 2.5 million tickets. Depeche Mode is the best-selling electronic band in music history, having sold more than 100 million records worldwide. The stadium tour will kick off in Tel Aviv’s Haraykon Park on May 7 following the April release of a new album, whose title is yet to be announced. The band will play 34 shows in 25 European countries. Dates will include shows at London’s O2 Arena (May 28), Berlin’s Olympic Stadium (June 9), the Stade de France in Paris (June 15), Moscow’s Locomotive Stadium (June 22), Rome’s Olympic Stadium (July 20). Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Andy Fletcher will wrap up the European leg of their tour in Minsk, Belarus on July 29, before taking the show to North America. “You put everything you can into a performance. To be able to really feel it is something very raw and very emotional - to the point that sometimes by the end of the show, it’s really difficult to say goodbye, because you experienced something together," Gahan said Tuesday. “Performing is really an emotional thing.” A pre-sale of tour tickets will be available on the band’s official web site DepecheMode.com shortly. News of the tour by the iconic band comes after the recent news of four Rolling Stones concert dates late this year. The band spent most of the year working on the new album that contains 20 songs and will be out next spring. The album was produced by Ben Hillier and Gore. It is Depeche Mode’s 13th album release since debut "Speak & Spell" in 1981. Their last release was "Remixes 2:81-11," a remix compilation album.
