According to Hraparak daily, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia insisted that an agreement was reached with Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarukyan to support Serzh Sargsyan’s candidacy at the upcoming presidential election, with a relevant announcement to be made by late November.

“However, no conversation on nominating own candidate or backing Sargsyan were held at Prosperous Armenia meeting, with Tsarukyan merely mentioning that political consultations are in progress,” the paper said.

“Nevertheless, those present estimated the probability of backing Sargsyan at 60%,” according to the paper.
