3 new trailers for Steven Spielberg's “Lincoln” unveiled (video) November 7, 2012 - 21:34 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Steven Spielberg's Lincoln has had three new clips released, Digital Spy said. The upcoming biopic of 16th US president Abraham Lincoln, which unveiled its international trailer earlier this week, centres on Lincoln's last years in office and specifically on his determination to pass the 13th amendment to abolish slavery. The first clip sees Lincoln (Daniel Day-Lewis) arguing with his eldest son Robert (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) about the latter's career choices. Gordon-Levitt recently hinted that the movie's father-son relationship will be fraught, commenting that the film does not portray Lincoln as an angel. In the second clip, Lincoln's wife Mary (Sally Field) asserts her position, asking to be referred to as "Madame President" at a social gathering. The third clip focuses on Lincoln himself, as he makes a metaphorical speech to young students about mechanical law. Tommy Lee Jones, James Spader, John Hawkes, David Strathairn and Jackie Earle Haley are among the ensemble cast. Lincoln will be released on November 16 in the US, and January 25 in the UK.
