Red Granite nabs Daniel Radcliffe’s “Horns,” De Niro’s “Motel”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Universal Pictures International (UPI) has secured rights from Red Granite to the supernatural-fantasy/thriller, “Horns” and the crime-thriller, “Motel” in select territories at the American Film Market, TheWrap said.

Red Granite and Mandalay Pictures “Horns,” starring Daniel Radcliffe and Juno Temple, is based on the best-selling novel by Joe Hill.

This rock-and-roll infused dark fantasy explores why bad things happen to good people, and what the loss of true love can do to a man. Universal will release “Horns” in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and Scandinavia.

“Motel” is a taut crime thriller centering on a hit man (John Cusack) hired by an infamous crime boss (Robert De Niro).

To complete the job, the man must fight his way through a cast of other shadowy characters who also have been summoned by the mobster to a decrepit backwater motel in the Delta bayous.

The film is directed by David Grovic and written by Paul Conway, James Russo and Grovic. Universal will release "Motel" in Spain and Scandinavia.

Red Granite Pictures is a Los Angeles based film production, finance, and international sales company headed by Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland.

Production and development is overseen by Aziz, McFarland, and Joe Gatta, while foreign sales are led by Danny Dimbort and Christian Mercuri.

Red Granite is currently in production on “The Wolf of Wall Street,” directed by Martin Scorsese and featuring an A-list ensemble cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio.
