Uruguayan official condemns Safarov case

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia deems Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement possible only in the framework of OSCE Minsk Group, Parliament Speaker said.

“Ceasefire observation and peaceful settlement of Karabakh problem is essential to Armenia,” Hovik Abrahamyannoted at the meeting with President of Uruguay’s Chamber of Representatives Jorge Orrico.

Dwelling on the extradition and pardon of Azerbaijani axe-killer Ramil Safarov, Hovik Abrahamyan described it as an immoral step that may undermine Karabakh talks and the efforts to ease the tensions and ensure stability.

The Uruguayan official, in turn, noted that his country condemns crimes similar to “Safarov case”.

“We have always struggled for equal rights. We condemn such crimes. Human rights protection is essential to international community, and we stand ready to assist in the peaceful settlement of all conflicts and disputes,” he said.
