Pyunik FC ex-doctor rejects FFA chief beating rumors - paper

The former doctor of Pyunik FC Vardan Hovasapyan had a conversation with a Zhoghovurd reporter following a rumored incident involving the head of the Football Federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetryan, the daily said.

“I was dismissed over what was explained to me as a violation of discipline. Nothing else happened and the stir around the incident needs to be stopped,” he said.

Commenting on his refusal to answer calls, Hovasapyan noted, “I’m simply depressed over the loss of my favorite job. Finding a new one is not an easy task for a man of my age.”

“We only had a short conversation with Hayrapetyan, nothing else happened,” Hovasapyan said.

Earlier, in a conversation with a Haykakan Zhamanak reporter, the president of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) commented on the rumors suggesting he beat up FC Pyunik doctor Vardan Hovsepyan.

According to the daily, Ruben Hayrapetyan denied the report as completely false. “FC Pyunik director dismissed several employees, including the doctor, over violation of sports discipline. What have I to do with all of that?” Hayrapetyan said.

“I believe, a statement by the “aggrieved” Vardan Hovasapyan would be the best proof of the above,” Hayrapetyan said.
