Paper: parliament postpones discussion of ANC-initiated bills

Parliament’s Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs has resolved to postpone by one year the discussion of the three bills initiated by the Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc regarding the laws on making amendments to the criminal procedural code, to the electoral code and state register of population, 168 zham daily reported.

“Asked why the ANC parliamentary group agreed to the delay of the discussions, bloc member Lyudmila Sargsyansaid their disagreement wouldn’t affect the decision of the parliamentary majority. It’s noteworthy that the ANC-initiated special parliamentary meeting was set to discuss the proposed amendments,” the paper said.
