Hackers release info related to FBI, Pentagon accountsDecember 11, 2012 - 15:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The hacking group Team GhostShell, which is affiliated with Anonymous, has released information online relating to 1.6 million government, military and industry accounts, TG Daily reports. Project White Fox has apparently hit the FBI, the Pentagon, the Federal Reserve and Interpol, along with NASA, ESA and many aerospace and military companies. The files released include names, email and home addresses, passwords and classified defense material - some hashed, some not. The group says it's deeply concerned about current moves by the International Telecommunications Union to make changes to the way the internet is governed. The proposals, which on the surface relate to discriminatory access to the internet, have been seen by many - including European Commission vice president and commissioner for the digital agenda Neelie Kroes - as heralding greater regulation. "The ITU (International Telecommunication Union) is hosting a meeting right now that may very well decide the fate of how the inet will be managed in the future," says Team Ghostshell in a statement. "Basically the UN may very well give total power to the ITU on how to handle everything." The group claims it's emailed all the organizations it's hit to let them know what it's done. "The email will also contain another 150 vulnerable servers from the Pentagon, NASA, DHS, Federal Reserve, Intelligence firms, L-3 CyberSecurity, JAXA, etc. Consider it an early Christmas present from us," it says.
