German envoy: Karabakh war renewal will cause new suffering

PanARMENIAN.Net - Nagorno Karabakh conflict must be resolved based on the principles of territorial integrity and peoples’ right to self-determination, German ambassador to Azerbaijan said.

“As OSCE Minsk Group member, Germany has active involvement in the negotiations, with no progress yielded, however,” Herbert Quelle said, stressing the need for the two principles to be applied as whole.

“The renewal of war will apparently bring about new human sufferings. I am optimistic about the continuation of the talks. For 40 years, German people were looking forward to the reunification, which started in the 70s and ended peacefully as a result of social revolution,” the envoy said, stressing the need to show patience and search for new solutions, according to Azerbaijani media outlets.
