World-famed chansonnier Charles Aznavour met with Beijing’s Armenian community on the sidelines of French Language Year in China.

At an embassy-hosted event, Armenian envoy to China Armen Sargsyan briefed Aznavour on the life of the city’s Armenian community.

Stressing the importance of preservation of national identity, the chansonnier urged the Armenian youth to never forget their roots.

Well-known grandmasters Elina Danielian and Levon Aronian also attended the meeting, foreign ministry press service reported.
