ADOPTION OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE RESOLUTION BY BUNDESTAG - COURAGEOUS STEP

PanARMENIAN.Net - The adoption of the Armenian Genocide resolution by Bundestag is a positive phenomenon, Armenia Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian said at a press conference in Yerevan today. In his word, with adopting the resolution Germany has confessed its complicity in the tragic events of 1915 and called Turkey to acknowledge its own history. In his words independently of the fact whether the resolution uses the term "genocide" or not, it is a positive and obvious advance, since the Armenian issue can be included in the EU-Turkey dialogue agenda. "The resolution uses the phrase "extermination of Armenians" what is equal to the term "genocide", the Minister stated. In his words, the German parliamentarians did not undertake the responsibility to assess the events of 1915, however the adoption of the resolution is quite a courageous step.
