ARFD not to back incumbent Armenian president

PanARMENIAN.Net - Though ARF Dashnaktsutyun has resolved against nominating a candidate for the upcoming presidential elections, it will probably back any of the hopefuls, except for the candidate of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), current President Serzh Sargsyan.

ARFD parliamentary group secretary Aghvan Vardanyan, however, deemed it impossible to predict future political developments.

“Decision not to nominate a presidential candidate does not suggest indifference to the election processes,” ARFD member Armen Rustamyan said, stressing the need for the next president to consider the party’s 7-point offer.
