Sonny rolls out waterproof Walkman MP3 player

PanARMENIAN.Net - Sony has announced a new water-resistant Walkman MP3 player, aimed at fitness fanatics for use in the pool, in the gym and on the track, Digital Spy said.

Unveiled at the CES 2013 trade show in Las Vegas, the W273 is the first ever Walkman from Sony that resists water down to a depth of 2 meters, giving it an IPX8 rating.

Users can enjoy their music while swimming, as the waterproof headphones are attached to an adjustable headband rather than traditional requiring cables.

The securely-fitting earphones come with a selection of ear bud sizes to choose from, including small, medium and large.

The W273 has 4GB of memory, supports all audio formats and users are able to load their tunes from PC or Mac, including drag-and-drop compatibility with any music library, including iTunes.

Sony says that a quick 3-minute charge of the MP3 player's battery provides playback for 60 minutes, while a full charge gives up to eight hours of uninterrupted listening.

Song search technology known as ZAPPIN lets users browse quickly through all their music, previewing a bit of each track without needing to go through menus or playlists.
