Heritage rep. says incumbent president will face serious problems

PanARMENIAN.Net - Though the election campaign will officially launch on January 21, it started long ago, Heritage party board secretary general said.

Stepan Safaryan noted current leader Serzh Sargsyan as Heritage chairman Raffi Hovannissian’s main rival during the upcoming presidential elections.

“The ruling authorities called on the voters to have faith in real changes ahead of May 6 parliamentary polls. However, the lack of any change recorded increases Raffi Hovannissian’s chances,” Heritage member said, adding that the incumbent president and his team will face serious problems.

“Public mood to boycott the elections still rule in the country due to several political forces’ refusal to join the race. Much depends on the candidates’ campaigns,” Mr. Safaryan said.
