A. CARSTENS: IMF-ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT EFFICIENT COOPERATION TO CONTINUE IN FUTURE

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today Armenian Minister of Economy and Finance Vardan Khachatryan met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Deputy Managing Director Agustin Carstens, reported the Press Service of the Ministry of Finance and Economy. In the course of the meeting the parties discussed a number of issues, referring to the economy of Armenia. V. Khachatryan acquainted the guests with recent economic indices of Armenia, problems in the field, as well as programs aimed at solving these problems. He noted that joint programs with international financial structures are being implemented successfully, and the research and consultative support of the IMF experts allow registering considerable progress in the Armenian economy. In his turn Agustin Carstens positively evaluated economic reforms being implemented in Armenia. He noted the efficient cooperation between the IMF and the Government of Armenia will continue in the future and progress will be registered in the Armenian economy as a result. Besides, the interlocutors discussed the process of implementation of the Poverty Reduction Strategic Program, the tasks of the financial market of Armenia, issues referring to the tax and customs fields, price stability.
