ARMENIA-SYRIA TRADE RELATIONS LEAVE MUCH TO BE DESIRED
Today Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan met with Syrian charge d'affaires in Armenia Mukhils Faraun, RA government's press service reported. During the meeting the Armenian Premier congratulated the diplomat with the mission, expressed hope that the Armenian-Syrian relations will develop dynamically and highlighted the development of economic relations, which in his words, cannot be rated as satisfactory to date, partly over the blockade imposed on Armenia by Turkey and unfavorable conditions for overland transportation. However, the Armenian and Syrian governments are willing to launch mutually beneficial business. Andranik Margaryan said he hopes that the work of the Armenian-Syrian intergovernmental commission as well as Syrian Prime Minister's upcoming visit to Armenia will promote solution of these problems. Upon completion of the meeting the RA Premier expressed readiness to render the support essential for the performing of the mission.
