Google+ overtakes Twitter, YouTube in active users reportJanuary 29, 2013 - 21:30 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Google+ has overtaken both Twitter and YouTube in terms of active users, according to a report, Digital Spy said. Data from GlobalWebIndex suggests that the internet giant's platform was used by 25% of the global web population over the past month, a figure that makes it second only to Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg's firm, the world's largest social network, was reportedly used by 50% of all internet users during the period in question, while Twitter and YouTube drew in just 21%. LinkedIn, Myspace, Pinterest and Tumblr were said to have attracted 10% of all web users apiece. However, the report focuses solely on active users who log into accounts on each site, disregarding those who stop by YouTube to watch a video without signing in or read a selection of Tweets without posting any. The figures single out Twitter as the fastest-growing social network, but appear to indicate that both Facebook and Google+ are also seeing steady expansion.
