Zac Efron, Akiva Goldsman team up for “The Falling” mystery projectJanuary 31, 2013 - 17:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Zac Efron and Akiva Goldsman are teaming up for a mystery supernatural project at Warner Bros. titled The Falling, The Hollywood Reporter said. Efron will star in the film and produce via his Warners-based Ninjas Runnin’ Wild Productions and Goldsman's Weed Road banner. Also on board to produce are husband-and-wife team Tory Tunnell and Joby Harold of Safehouse Pictures. Every effort is being made to protect the logline of the project, which is being described as an edgy thriller centering around an otherworldly being. The idea originated within the studio, which presented it to Goldsman and Efron. Goldsman and Harold, the screenwriter who worked on Warners' upcoming Tom Cruise sci-fi movie All You Need Is Kill, then hammered out a story. The producers will now undertake a search for a screenwriter to take Falling, which is a working title, to the next level of development. Efron (CAA, Alchemy Entertainment, Felker Toczek) this week started shooting Parkland, a JFK drama that counts Jacki Weaver and Paul Giamatti as part of its ensemble cast. Ninjas Runnin’ Wild recently wrapped production on Are We Officially Dating?, an indie romantic comedy in which Efron stars with Miles Teller and Imogen Poots. Goldsman is shooting his directorial debut, Winter’s Tale, in New York, working with a cast that includes Colin Farrell, Will Smith and Russell Crowe. He also is in post-production on Lone Survivor, Peter Berg’s tale of the tragic events of Operation Red Wing.
