BlackBerry Z10 sales “exceed expectations”

BlackBerry, the company formerly known as RIM, has said that demand for the BlackBerry Z10 has exceeded expectations since the full touchscreen device went on sale in the UK last week, Digital Spy said.

Alongside giving its first indication on sales for the Z10, BlackBerry has also today (February 5) announced a partnership with Unity to bring more games to the BlackBerry 10 platform.

Speaking at a BlackBerry Jam app developer event in Amsterdam, BlackBerry UK managing director Stephen Bates told TechCrunch that the Z10 - the first touchscreen device to run BlackBerry 10 - sold out at some UK retailers just a few days after launch. However, Bates did not offer any exact sales figures for the Z10.

The Z10 launched first in the UK, but has since expanded to other European markets, including France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and the Netherlands.
