ARMENIA ENJOYS MUCH AUTHORITY AMONG OSCE MEMBER STATES

PanARMENIAN.Net - The OSCE Helsinki Final Act has united nations that were previously in the state of the Cold War, resulting in agreement in such issues as ecology, economy, election, human rights. Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan, Ambassador Vladimir Pryakhin stated at today's presentation of the Armenian translation of the OSCE Helsinki Final Act. In hi swords, the document has played an important role in ending the Cold War and started cooperation between European countries in democracy development, as well as disarmament, creation of joint security system in Europe. The diplomat also noted that the OSCE has played an important role in the political changes in America, Asia and Europe. «Today the OSCE occupies a special place among organizations, specifically in the European security institution. 55 countries are OSCE members now and organization offices are available in 16 of them,» he noted. V. Pryakhin noted with pleasure that Armenia enjoys much authority among OSCE member states. «After declaring independence in 1992 Armenia joined the organization and actively participated in its work,» he remarked. «I hope for the Helsinki Final Act being issued in Armenian to be useful for the Armenian society to understand basic principles, values adopted by the OSCE and the 55 member states, including Armenia,» V. Pryakhin concluded.
