Spotify available for Windows Phone 8 devices in app form

Spotify is now available for Windows Phone 8 devices in native app form, Digital Spy said.

The application is exclusive to Microsoft's latest mobile operating system and will be incompatible with devices running Mango and Windows Phone 7.8.

Spotify for Windows Phone 8, which has launched in beta, includes all of the same features as its Android and iOS counterparts, granting subscribers access to a music library containing millions of tracks.

Account holders can compile playlists, share music with friends and take advantage of a range of app-based add-on services.

The application is free to download and includes a free 30-day trial to the premium service, which costs £9.99 per month after that.

Spotify confirmed in December last year that its user base doubled during 2012 and now exceeds 20 million subscribers, 5 million of which hold premium accounts.
