Raffi Hovannisian: Armenian cities will rise for their victory

PanARMENIAN.Net - Heritage party leader revealed the details of his meeting with incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan.

As Raffi Hovannisian stated during a February 22 rally at Liberty Square, Sargsyan has been offered 3 options: accept the people’s victory, hold new polls or elect a new parliament. All of the suggestions were declined.

Hovannisian gave the following reply, “If you’re not ready and don’t have the strength or ability to accept the people’s victory, being with people is the only thing I can do. The soldiers have to protect the border, but if they’re ordered to stand in our way, the commander, the policeman that would execute this illegal order will have to answer to people. We’ll continue the struggle and we’ll be persistent in our efforts.”

As Hovhannisian further noted other Armenian people will also join the struggle. “Tomorrow we’ll travel to Ashtarak, Vanadzor, Gyumri. We’ll return to Yerevan on Sunday and gather here. I suggest Yerevan Mayor sanction the rally at Liberty Square, because here is where Armenian people will gather to stand up for their rights,” he said.
