“The Blunderer” novel to be adapted into psychological thriller

PanARMENIAN.Net - Andy Goddard has been attached to direct The Blunderer, based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel by the same name.

Ted Hope and Killer Films’ Christine Vachon will produce the psychological thriller along with Sierra Pictures, which is financing the film. Susan Boyd adapted the novel, which she optioned with her husband, novelist and screenwriter William Boyd, who is executive producing.

The novel follows the young, successful and handsome, Walter Stackhouse who seems to have it all, that is, until the day his wife’s body is found at the bottom of a cliff. Under the intense scrutiny of the investigation he commits one mistake, then another, until he finds his perfect life derailed.

Goddard most recently directed the two-hour season finale of Downton Abbey. Kelly McCormick, Sierra/Affinity’s SVP of Development and Production, will oversee the production for the company.
