President Sargsyan congratulates newly-elected Pope

PanARMENIAN.Net - President Serzh Sargsyan issued a letter to Pope Francis congratulating him on his election as the 266th head of Roman Catholic church.

“Armenia values Vatican as the spiritual center, defender of human rights and moral norms, champion of peace and tolerance,” the President said.

“We hope that kind traditions of partnership between Armenia, the first country to adopt Christianity as official religion, and Vatican will continue into the future,” the presidential letter said.
