Jose Mourinho named world’s highest paid football coach

Jose Mourinho makes the highest salary of any coach in world soccer, according to France Football's annual earnings list that puts the Real Madrid manager's wages over the last year at $18 million.

Mourinho who pulled in $15 million in salary and an additional $3 million in endorsements has topped the salary list since France Football first started compiling the ranking in 2004. That same year, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson finished in first place, while Brazilian coach Luis Felipe Scolari, with Chelsea at the time, did the same in 2009.

This year, Mourinho is followed by Paris Saint-Germain's Carlo Ancelotti ($15 million) and fellow Italian Marcelo Lippi, who makes $14 million coaching Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande F.C.

Gus Hiddink ($14 million) of Russia's FC Anzhi Makhachkala and former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish ($13 million) round out the top five, followed by Arsenal's Arsene Wenger ($11 million), Rusia's national team coach Fabio Capello ($11 million), as well as Manchester City's Roberto Mancini, Ferguson and China national team coach Jose Antonio Camacho, who each make $7 million, NYDailyNews reported.
