EU Expecting Soonest Opening of Armenian-Turkish Border
The European Union is expecting the soonest opening of the Armenian-Turkish border, what will allow the restoration of the Kars-Gyumri railway communication instead of construction a new and complicated sector of Kars-Akhalkalaki railway, EU High Representative for EU Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana stated in Brussels yesterday. Upon completion of the meeting with RA President Robert Kocharian Mr. Solana said that operation of the existing transport communications is more preferable than investments into the construction of new railway. According to him, good will is essential for the opening the border and the EU hopes for its manifestation by both sides.
